Tell us what a good week looks like
Not a form. A conversation about what you need done and when it needs doing.
Personal care & in-home · Sydney North Shore
Help with the everyday things, in your own home, from workers who live around here. You meet the person before anything is locked in, and the person you meet is the one who turns up.
Answered Mon–Fri 9:00am–5:00pm.
Free, no obligation
Tell us what you need and we’ll ring you back.
Personal care & in-home
The complaint we hear most about in-home support is not the work. It is a different face every week and having to explain yourself again each time. We roster the same worker to the same person, and when they are away we tell you who is coming instead.

How it works
01
Tell us what a good week looks like
Not a form. A conversation about what you need done and when it needs doing.
02
Meet the worker first
A free meet & greet before anything is signed. If they are not right, you say so and we bring someone else.
03
A trial run
One or two shifts to see how it works in practice, before you commit to a roster.
04
The same faces, week after week
A set roster with a named worker, and a named backup you have already met.
Our patch
Between the hospital precinct, the station and the bush tracks at Lane Cove, the North Shore isn’t one place. Support that works in Crows Nest doesn’t automatically work in Wahroonga.

Meet & greet
Nobody should have to pick a provider off a website. Come and meet the person who’d be turning up. Have a coffee. Ask the awkward questions. If it isn’t a fit we’ll find someone else, and it costs you nothing either way.
Who this is for
Who you’ll be dealing with
You won’t get a different worker every fortnight, and you won’t be handed to whoever is free. The person you meet is the person who turns up.

Common questions
Yes. You meet them first, at no cost, and you can say no. Matching is most of the job in this work, a technically capable worker who does not suit you is not a good outcome for anyone.
Tell us and we change the worker. You do not have to justify it and there is no penalty. If you would rather leave altogether, we will help you move to someone else.
Yes, where they are funded in your plan. Overnight support is priced differently under the NDIS price guide and we will show you what it draws down before you commit.
Usually Core Supports, under Assistance with Daily Life. If you are not sure what you have, read us the plan over the phone and we will tell you.
For most suburbs on the North Shore we can arrange a meet & greet within a few days. Complex or overnight rosters take longer, and we will give you a real date rather than an optimistic one.
You give your current provider the notice your service agreement asks for, usually two to four weeks, and sign a new agreement with us. You do not need the NDIA’s permission and you do not have to explain why. We can start the meet & greet while your notice period is still running so there is no gap in support.
That is the point of how we roster. You get a named regular worker and a named backup you have already met. People do get sick and take leave, and when that happens we tell you who is coming rather than sending a stranger unannounced.
Where we can, yes, and we will say so plainly if we cannot rather than sending someone and hoping. Language, gender and cultural background are all fair things to ask for.
Some. Complex bowel care, PEG feeding, tracheostomy and similar supports need specific training and sign-off, so ask us about your particular needs before you commit. If we are not the right provider for the clinical side, we will say so rather than take the booking.
Every worker holds an NDIS Worker Screening Check and works under the NDIS Code of Conduct. We will show you the paperwork if you want to see it.
Yes. Self-managed, plan-managed and NDIA-managed. If you’re not sure which you are, tell us and we can work it out from your plan.
It depends on the support and the hours you need. Call and we’ll give you a straight answer on availability rather than putting you on a list.
Yes, and we’d encourage it. Meet whoever would be supporting you before anything is signed. If the fit isn’t right, we find someone else.
That’s exactly what our NDIS Navigators do. Eligibility, evidence, the Access Request, all before you have any funding.
Yes, Thrive Ability Services is a registered NDIS provider.
Use the referral form or call 0421 959 006. We’ll come back to you on capacity and likely start dates.
