What we do

All of it delivered by our own people. The same faces, week to week. If you need something we don’t do, we’ll tell you who does.

Talk it through

Our patch

We know these streets, because we work on them

Between the hospital precinct, the station and the bush tracks at Lane Cove, the North Shore isn’t one place. Support that works in Crows Nest doesn’t automatically work in Wahroonga.

Free before you commit to anything

Not on the NDIS yet? We’ll help you apply.

Most providers only talk to you once you already have funding. Our NDIS Navigators help before that.

  • Eligibility explained in plain English
  • What reports and evidence you need
  • Which professionals to engage to strengthen it
  • Help through the Access Request process
  • A review of the application before you submit

Already have a plan?

We’ll read it with you, break down what each funding category can be spent on, and get supports started. That includes preparing for your next review.

Getting started

Four steps, no paperwork to begin

01

Have a chat

Call or send the form. We ask what’s going on and what you want to change. Nothing is committed.

02

Meet the person

Whoever would be supporting you comes along, before anything is signed.

03

Agree the plan

We set the days, hours and goals, and sort the service agreement and bookings.

04

Start, and adjust

Supports begin. If something isn’t working we change it, rather than waiting for review.

Meet & greet

Meet your support worker before you decide

Nobody should have to pick a provider off a website. Come and meet the person who’d be turning up. Have a coffee. Ask the awkward questions. If it isn’t a fit we’ll find someone else, and it costs you nothing either way.

Who we support

Support shaped around the person, not the diagnosis

If yours isn’t listed it doesn’t mean we can’t help. Ring and ask.

  • Autism
  • Intellectual disability
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Acquired brain injury
  • Stroke
  • Down syndrome
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Psychosocial disability
  • Physical disability
  • Sensory impairment
  • Degenerative conditions
  • Complex needs

Who you’ll be dealing with

Small team. Same faces.

You won’t get a different worker every fortnight, and you won’t be handed to whoever is free. The person you meet is the person who turns up.

Why Thrive

Why North Shore families choose us

Every provider says they’re person-centred. Here’s what that means here.

  • We’re local. Our office is on the Pacific Highway at St Leonards. You can come in, and we can get to you.
  • We help before you have funding. Our Navigators support you through the application, not just after approval.
  • You choose the worker. No allocation by spreadsheet. You get a say in who comes.
  • We’ll tell you if we’re not right. If another provider suits you better we’ll say so and point you there.
  • Registered NDIS provider. Self, plan and NDIA-managed participants welcome.

Common questions

Before you call

Do you take self-managed and plan-managed participants?

Yes. Self-managed, plan-managed and NDIA-managed. If you’re not sure which you are, tell us and we can work it out from your plan.

How soon can support start?

It depends on the support and the hours you need. Call and we’ll give you a straight answer on availability rather than putting you on a list.

Can I meet the support worker before we start?

Yes, and we’d encourage it. Meet whoever would be supporting you before anything is signed. If the fit isn’t right, we find someone else.

What if I’m not on the NDIS yet?

That’s exactly what our NDIS Navigators do. Eligibility, evidence, the Access Request, all before you have any funding.

Are you a registered NDIS provider?

Yes, Thrive Ability Services is a registered NDIS provider.

I’m a support coordinator. How do I refer someone?

Use the referral form or call 0421 959 006. We’ll come back to you on capacity and likely start dates.
